The demands of running this recovery program, in such a harsh and inaccessible environment, are considerable, as are the costs. Field gear such as boots wear out quickly. The costs of releasing iguanas are tremendous. Radio tracking equipment is expensive but is vitally important to improving our understanding of the iguana’s movements and habitat use.
