Through partnerships with government agencies, conservation organizations and research institutions, the IUCN Iguana Specialist Group seeks to help design and implement immediate and effective conservation measures for this magnificent group of lizards. The ISG is comprised of researchers dedicated to the conservation of these beautiful and endangered iguanas. Donations made to the ISG through the International Iguana Foundation will assist in operating costs associated with running this important scientific community such as meetings, conferences and publications.

Research Wish List
The International Iguana Foundation funds projects in various countries around the world.  Many of our researchers are in need of equipment to continue their conservation efforts in countries that have very limited resources.  By choosing to purchase items from our wish list, you are providing our teams with vital research and conservation tools.
Ricord's Iguana Research
The International Iguana Foundation (IIF) provides core support funding to assist in the conservation of Ricord’s iguanas (Cyclura ricordii) in both Haiti and the Dominican Republic. C. ricordii is listed as Critically Endangered by the IUCN Red List. With only 2,000-4,000 individuals estimated to be in the wild and less than 100km2 of native habitat left, the Ricord’s iguana is one of the IIF’s priority projects.
Jamaican Iguana Conservation

Regarded as one of the most critically endangered reptiles in the world, an active field conservation team has worked hard to prevent the extinction of this remarkable lizard. Spiny-tailed Iguana Conservation
To highlight the critical needs of this threatened group of Ctenosaurs, the IIF launched a fund-raising campaign to support the a 2007 workshop in Utila, Honduras, that explored the conservation needs of this clade.  Funds are still needed to support research that will help to further determine conservation needs and fund projects that will impliment priority actions.
