The IIF is pleased to announce three major funding sources supported iguana conservation in 2004.
Conservation International’s Critically Endangered Neotropical Species Fund awarded $5,000 to a proposal entitled “Invasive Mammal Control and Enhanced Survival of Hatchling Jamaican Iguanas in the Hellshire Hills.”
The Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund has awarded $16,000 for a restoration program for the Turks and Caicos Iguana. Additionally, the Disney Rapid Response Conservation Fund pledged $5,000 for Hurricane Ivan relief benefitting Jamaican and Grand Cayman iguanas.
The IUCN SSC Sir Peter Scott Fund for Conservation Action was awarded to the Iguana Specialist Group, totaling $15,000 for priority projects.
