2011 Funding Support Received
The International Iguana Foundation received a total of $70,155 from four granting sources in 2011.
The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) is a joint program of l’Agence Francaise de Developpement, Conservation International, the Global Environment Facility, the Government of Japan, the MacArthur Foundation, and the World Bank. A fundamental goal is to ensure civil society is engaged in biodiversity conservation. CEPF awarded the International Iguana Foundation $49,885 for Ricord’s Iguana conservation in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, of which $14,155 was funded in 2011.
The Disney Wildlife Conservation Fund awarded $25,000 to the IIF for maintaining activities crucial to the short-term survival of the Jamaican Iguana, in addition to expanding nesting sites to absorb the overflow of nesting females that are a result of the program’s prior success in head-starting efforts. Acquiring and establishing additional camera traps will allow the program to obtain comprehensive survey information on local fauna and build upon data gathered towards the rehabilitation of the Goat Islands.
Woodland Park Zoo awarded $1000 to the IIF for Ricord’s Iguana conservation in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
An Anonymous foundation granted $15,000 for the Jamaican Iguana Recovery Program and $15,000 to Ricord’s Iguana conservation in the Dominican Republic.
